RECE Res: 7 MAY 13

Mr. Chapman called on me yesterday and pleaded hard for half pay

during the extension, saying that his Mother was very shaky

(having had an accident and very anxious for

him to remain at home till Sept. and that he

could not do so unless half pay were allowed.

said that when he came home the H.K. Govt. were

ready to agree to an extension of two months on

half pay.

I think we may let him have half pay for the

whole of the extension on the ground of urgent

private affairs. So inform him, Gov. and C.A.
